Sorry if I offend

I can't stand the inconsiderate nature of some smokers. What makes you think I want your disgusting little butts all over my yard?

I just picked up nine butts from my front yard and driveway from barely more than half a days work by my contractor and his assistant. That's without looking for them, just happening upon them.

Should I leave them a coffee can and risk offending them? I don't want anything to negatively affect the quality of their work, but I can't face fifteen butts in my yard every frickin' day. I can't even think of something comparable. At least dog poop disintegrates after a few days.

By all means, leave a coffee can filled with sand out in the yard for them to use. They shouldn't be offended by that at all! You have every right to be put out by their flicking their cigarette butts in your yard. Gross!

Thanks for your kind comment on my blog earlier. I do appreciate it!

Oh, it's one of my pet peeves. I ended up picking up cigarette butts on one of the hiking trails we were on last weekend.

Why do smokers think that cigarette butts aren't litter?

Ugh.

The coffee can is an excellent idea.

I agree, put out a coffee can, maybe a couple if necessary to cover area.

UGH. I hate cigarette butts, so I may not be the best judge.

Me too, me too! Hate to be a yes-man (or woman), but I agree with everyone else. Ugh! Go for the coffee can.

Ewwwww.

I don't think a sand-filled can would be insulting. Passive-aggressive, maybe, but hey, if it gets the job done!

Leave the can. It's not insulting and better for them to be a little put-out than throwing their butts all over your yard.

A few days, my ass. My neighbors dog must make the super poos. They sit in my yard for week. But yeah, the butts sound gross.
