Yesterday's mail brought a nice little treat. Laundrytree's soapnuts sent to me by Smellyann. I haven't tried them yet because I only do one load a week of my clothes (the dog's get their own load). I can't wait to try them, but I wonder if I can still do the vinegar? I love the idea of not producing any waste and being able to compost the nuts after using them. So stayed tuned, and I'll let y'all know how I like them.
Thanks Smellyann!!!

One load a week?!! OMG, the holy grail!!
You're quite welcome! I stil put a little vinegar in mine, too. Go right ahead!
Ooh! I saw these at Fruitful Yield and couldn't imagine how they would possibly work out. Interested to see how it goes. Thought that the shells or kernel-like things would get all over your clothes? Do you stick them in a bag first or something? Having a child in the house we do at least one load a day. If he stays clean then he gets food or poop on me, or my husband or my clothes get all trashed from the yard work. You must have a lot of clothes.
We usually wash once a week, too, but then we do 2-3 loads. I used to do a lot more when I had young children, but piano boy likes to wear his clothes until they rot off him.
Let me know how they work. And if you like them.
