Back to Reality

I'm back from California. I had a nice time. It's beautiful there. Flowers are in bloom. We went to several parks and the aquarium. We watched three movies and I read three books. We also watched three great basketball games at a sportsbar.

I've returned home to sunshine and temperatures that rival (or best?) those I enjoyed in California. Unfortunately I haven't been able to walk or do any much-needed yard work. I spent most of the afternoon taking care of my car. I discovered, much to my horror, that my car was brakeless when I retrieved it from the parking garage at the airport last night. Now it's at the garage to be fixed tomorrow, and I've got my dad's sporty version of the same vehicle. He might even ride his bike to work tomorrow it's so nice out.

There's no food in the house and lots of dirty laundry. So that's what I'll be doing for the rest of the day...

Welcome back! What were the people like in California? I have so many questions about it--I've never been and might be moving there (just posted about that).

Glad you had a good time & good luck with the car!

Wow, it sounds like your weather is nicer than ours is, for once! We've had cold and rain for the past three days.

OMG, how did your car become brakeless while it was sitting there/ I mean, did someone do something to it? How did you discover it? I hope you are okay and the fix isn't astronomically priced! yay for dads! :D

Welcome back! So glad you are back and had a good time. I hate all the deadness when you come home like chores and food, etc. Think it makes it harder to get back into things. Imagine if there was a service that filled your fridge with your favorite foods right before you came back and then met you at home when you arrived and took all your dirty laundry away to clean it for you. Ahhhh . . . . .

Welcome home.

Hope you took some pictures.

So sorry about the car and the chores, but glad you had a good time and have good weather. It's not that warm here. It's supposed to go to 52 or 54 depending on who you ask. No flowers here yet.

I did ask the mechanic if someone could have cut my brake line (hello, paranoid?), but he said no.

Electronic Goose, I was in a very touristy part of CA, so I'm not sure that I can accurately describe the natives. I also find that sometimes inhabitants of tourist traps tend to be somewhat standoffish because of the constant traffic of strangers. I can tell you that I hated Los Angeles, but liked San Francisco and Monterey. I don't know how helpful that is! :-)

I have a feeling I would hate LA too--and I know what you mean about touristy towns and the natives. :) Thanks!

You got a chance to see Monterey. Great! It sure is a nice beach town community.
If you ever get a chance to come up North to Canada, Stanley park in Vancouver is great, as is White Rock Beach.
