Painting Ceilings

Work has really picked up. This might impact my blogging. I may have to do more of it on my own time.

I finished painting the ceiling in the master bedroom. Apparently, one coat is not enough when it's been around 25 years since the last fresh coat's been applied. I got the first coat on in the mid-sized bedroom before I ran out. Two gallons got me through one and a half rooms. Ugh. Home Depot, here I come!

D&D got the carpet pulled up out of the middle bedroom. So that room is in the midst of a big transition. The little bedroom is serving as a bit of a storage room with half-filled boxes and odd pieces of furniture.

My next goal is the first coat of wall paint in the master, and then the second coat on the ceiling in the middle bedroom. It's hard to paint after work though because once the sun sets the house gets so dark. I hope to speak to my boss about using some of my vacation time. I feel motivated.

What did it look like when you pulled the carpet up? I know you already have replacement stuff ready to cut and install, but I'm wondering how the pads held up. It'd be nice not to have to spend money on something so invisible.

I hope the office getting suddenly busy doesn't predispose the boss against your leave request.

I didn't even see the carpet pad, as I was painting madly away with the bedroom door closed to prevent dust from getting in the wet paint. Dad made the executive decision that the pad was not salvageable, so I will have to buy that at Home Depot too. Remember the closet situation? I think that was part of the deciding factor.

And yes, I realize that this post is excessively dull to most people. Sorry, folks!

Nice to meet you too, Erin! I'm impressed with your ambition- I usually stay locked indoors whenever there's a chance of encountering fellow shoppers. Such exciting colors too! We live in an apartment and all of the walls are very white.

I admire you for doing your own painting. I get the bug and get started ... and then get bored and quit about halfway through.

Oh no, I am not worthy of admiration. I am only trying to save money. Trust me, if I had extra to spend, I would be paying someone else to paint!
