Wimbledon

I've mentioned before how I am a big fan of watching grand slam tennis. As you may or may not know, Wimbledon is reaching it's peak after a stretch of miserably cold and rainy weather. I have seen very little play from this year's Championship, so this morning I've tuned in Radio Wimbledon online.

Let me just say, listening to tennis is not like watching it. I never much cared for situations where I was forced to listen to Hometown U basketball games, but this is much worse. Basically, the only thing I'm getting out of it is frequent score updates.

Hopefully, I will be able to watch some matches tomorrow. And hopefully, Henin and Federer will lose. It's not about who wins for me as much as it is about those two losing.

And Le Tour starts tomorrow!

Hey! What's wrong with Roger?!

Oops, sorry Swissmiss! I don't care for his total domination of the sport or his lack of emotion while playing.

Eh, I'm not really Swiss, not offense taken :-) That total domination thing can take the excitement out of things I guess.

Apparantly as a junior Federer was a real hot head - hard to imagine but he used to smash rackets, argue with line judges and stuff. I think that works for some players - Safin or Hewitt seem to get energy from it - but it seems to have stood in the way of Federer's game and I think he's learned he has to keep himself real even keeled to play his best game. But it does make one want to see him crack a racket just once, doesn't it?

Indeed. I was glad he won today though. And I was happy to see that he was affected by the moment.
