I'd forgotten how much I love St. Paddy's Day. Not because of the green beer or the drunken singing (although I was sort of wishing for a shamrock shake). FF disliked St. Patrick's Day, so we never acknowledged it, other than with his yearly grumblings. Today I decided to go back to my ways.
I donned a green shirt and a pair of shamrock earrings that I've had since I was a wee lass. I wished everyone a happy day and eagerly put the strings of green beads around my neck when they were given to me by a co-worker.
I do have Irish blood in me veins, but as the saying goes, "Everyone is Irish on St. Patrick's Day."
Next year, just wait! I'll be sporting buttons and silly hats!

Wow! Again you surprise me. I would not have figured you for getting silly on St. Patty's! How fun. I could use a drink right now - are those shamrock shakes spiked? :D
Hey Nadine,
Would you happen to know where I can find a list of all the blog/web acronyms? Like FF, DD, DS I keep reading all the blogs that use them and have no idea what that means. Please help if you can. Thanks!
I wore my button that says, 'Kiss Me I'm Irish' on my usual location - my belt buckle. It hasn't worked yet, but we must all have hope.
BB and ML are St. Patrick's Day grumblers too--WAHN! I miss my happy St. Paddy family that used to celebrate and have fun.
Every day's a holiday and any excuse for a party and traditions, right?
That's my thought.
And besides, my Grandmother was from County Kerry Ireland! I did wear green. And make a Leprechaun card.
Now we're revving up to celebrate easter (We'll be having corned beef and cabbage--HUH?) and then Baby granddaughter's first birthday already!!! On the 27th.
We don't do nearly as much revving as I'd like, though! Room room! :-D
Coffeypot's a riot. Although he could also be annoying, LOL! :-D
Did you read what Judy wrote about him?
SO HAPPY EASTER in advance in case I fall of the edge of the accretion disc into the black hole of internet hell.
Val, "DS" stands for dear spouse and you can check out some other acronyms here. My use of FF stands for "former fiance" which I use to reference my ex.
