Here we go again

I received another letter from my girly doctor saying they were unable to contact me by phone and to call the office to schedule a repeat pap.

First of all, they have both of my phone numbers, so, really, how hard did they try to contact me?

Second, this will make three paps in six months. I feel certain that is too many. Not to mention the vaginal ultrasounds that I've had (two? three? I've lost count), and the fact that I'm supposed to have another one of those next month. Perhaps we should just set up a standing monthly appointment and they can poke and prod me to their hearts content.

Oy.

Sorry menfolk, hopefully you stopped reading this quite sometime ago.

Both your phone numbers also have mechanisms for leaving messages, too, do they not? How obnoxious. When you call, perhaps you could remind them of your appointment next month and suggest the bonus pap be done then. All these copays have got to be adding up.

You didn't gross me out. I've been doing digital exams on women for years. I can tell if you have a lump in a place that is suppose to be lumpless and I worked on smears for years. So say what you will around me. I don't blush. Just pant!

Just one more reason I hate the medical professionals. Lazy, inefficient, and incompetent. I agree, this definitely deserves an "Oy". Let's start a new club, not sure what to call it, but it has something to do with being a casualty of medicine.

I agree with berrybird--tell them you'll have the new pap next month.

Or not.

I guess it is sort of scary. Maybe you want to know sooner.

But dang--what about a message? What about those phone numbers. Grrrr!

So far, knock on wood, my new Dr. Seems competant. I hope.

Today, Feb. 9th, is my daughter (Marni over at its-a-pugs-life) 40th birthday. Go to my blog site and listen to the song in her honor. Thank you for this commercial break.
