Changes Under Foot

As some of you may have noticed, I have changed my profile name. I felt the time had come for a little more anonymity. It is partially related to why I have dropped off the grid of late, but I am not ready to go into details about that yet. It is also something I've been considering for some time now and had been tossing around some options.

I went with Nadine because she was me in 7th grade French class. My real name did not have a French version, so I got to pick from an assortment of names. I chose Nadine, so if possible, please pronounce it in your head with a French accent! Think something like Nah-dean...

It was the only time in my life I've had the chance to pick a different "persona" if you will. Not that I don't love my real name, but sometimes it's fun to be someone else for a little while.

Glad you're back! I hope things are okay.

I had two french names. Alexia which I picked. Nothing like my real name but I loved it. One year my french teacher insisted he have a Chantal and a Raoul. I was the last girl to pick so I had to be Chantal.

I always thought it strange that we had to pick a "French name." I also have forgotten what mine was, prolly out of spite. Madame didn't make us stick with the French names, did she? I am sure I would remember that. Anyway, glad to hear the story.

And: it's very nice to meet you, Nadine.

I had a Frech name growing up, too. I was known in the hood as "Hey, Asshole."

Hi Nadine, pleased to meetcha!! My French name is Marie, which while prolly obvious, was actually the name I used in French class.

I am thinking of dividing my blogs into Creativc Blogs with my real name and person blogs (without it). Then I can say the private things I worry about saying with my real name.

Nope, Berrybird, Madame called us Mlle So and So or M So and So. Always. In fact, if you saw her today, she still would!
