So much for fashion

I've decided that from now on I will only buy pants (or skirts, shorts, what-have-you) that have elastic waist bands. Heck, I'm over thirty and a generation ago that would've been tantamount to being over-the-hill, so I might as well be comfortable. I would live in J-Lo-esque velour track pants if I could. And big t-shirts. And flip-flops.

OK, so I'm kidding about restricting my purchases, but seriously, why can't real clothes be more comfortable? Isn't it bad enough that I have to go to work at all, why make it worse with torturous pants that dig into my gut? Who's behind this madness?

Amen. Clothes suck, and work clothes really bite the big one.

I can't stand uncomfortable clothes or shoes. My theory is that if everyone refused to buy uncomfortable stuff, the clothing industry would start making stuff with comfort in mind.

Until then, I am sticking to jeans and sneakers.

Be careful with the stretch waist line pants. I have several pairs, but every time I fart they end up around my ankles. It's kind of embarrassing when it happens at the mall.

It's an evil conspiracy and we've all bought into the fashion industry stupidity. One good thing about being old is that you get to wear purple (etc).

Try Vermont Country Store. They have nice stuff that's actually comfortable.

Coffeypot is a riot. But he doesn't love me.

Oh boy do I live for the moment I get home from work and change my clothes. Off stuffy, starchy boring gray pants, on large, elastic-banded PJ shorts. Ahhhhh. Much better. ... I've considered working from home solely for this reason ...

E Goose, I am right there with you. Off comes the "business casual" and on goes the "jammy pants" or boxers. Much better...
