Spring in the Air

After an exhausting night with little or no sleep thanks to the little dog, I decided to try the lunchtime nap. I bundled up and plodded out to the car, where I reclined my passenger seat and laid down as best as I could. The car was delightfully warm in the unexpected sunshine. Soon I had to take off my puffy goose down coat and use it as a pillow instead. I easily drifted off to sleep and slept for a solid half hour.

I woke feeling more energized and decided I couldn't waste my entire lunch hour. I hopped up, put my coat and scarf back on, and off I went. I wandered down past the tennis courts, through the cafeteria in case there was an appetizing goody to be had (nope), and back up the hill to my office building. The sun was shining, the snow was melting, and the air felt fresh and almost warm.

By the time I was most of the way back up the hill I'd unbuttoned my coat, removed my scarf, and then finally shed the coat altogether.

I've seen the 7 day forecast. I know that snow and cold will be back in force by the weekend. But today seems like spring, and I will enjoy it while it lasts.

Ooo, I love a good car nap, so restful. I felt spring in the air today too. It was the first day on the year I got to roll the windows down briefly for some fresh air. And, I didn't even need my big down coat today. Happiness is.

Weren't you scared you'd sleep all afternoon? That is my fear with the car nap. What would be more likely to happen is that I'd be so nervous about sleeping all afternoon that I wouldn't be able to doze off at all. Sigh.

Well, unlike you, I have the modern technological marvel of the cell phone, which has a built in alarm clock. I can sleep just fine knowing it will clang loudly exactly when I set it to.

Fancy, fancy.

Do you and BerryBird know each other? Sometimes I think you might...

Anyway an afternoon nap sounds lovely...especially since I can't go lay on the couch whenever I want to now. Why didn't I like working from home again?

I wish I could take a little nap in a sun-warmed car! Too much computer staring is giving me a headache. Too bad there weren't any little goodies! :-D
